Who does not know the famous great man Swami Vivekananda ji, who gave a new direction to the past and present of India. Every person of the country bows down even today remembering his great works and unique personality. His whole life was spent in search of human welfare and truth. Today we are going to talk about these great men and tell about their full life introduction, their great works, their teachings and interesting events of their lives.

On January 12, 1863, at 6.35 am, this great man was born on earth. His real name was Narendranath Dutt. He was born in the city of Calcutta in a cultured Bengali Kayastha family. His father's name was Vishwanath Dutt and he was a well-known lawyer of the city of Calcutta. His mother's name was Bhuvaneshwari Devi, who was a very religious, kind and hardworking woman. As Swami Vivekananda grew older, so did his intellect and spiritual qualities. When they used to hear religious stories etc. from their mother, Then many kinds of curiosity arose in his heart. Due to his curious nature, he wanted to know the reason behind everything. The desire to know more about religion became strong in him and he later adopted Sanyas at the age of about 25 years and left his home and became a monk. Education of Swami Vivekananda

His family members wished that Vivekananda should take higher education and study a lot and become a great scholar. Therefore, at a very young age, he was sent to get education in the school. He took admission in an institution named Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar Metropolitan. Then when he was 16 years old, he passed the entrance examination in the Presidency College in Calcutta with first class. He also loved reading Hindu scriptures and knowing about them. He was not only interested in education but also in sports and pranayama. Not only Hindu culture, he also studied western civilization and culture deeply and got many degrees. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1884 and a fine arts degree in 1881. He read the biographies of many great men and philosophers and made them his source of inspiration.

Swami Vivekananda's Guru Ramakrishna Paramhansa

He considered Sri Ramakrishna Paramhans ji as his guru. Ramakrishna Paramhansa was the priest in the Kali temple at Dakshineswar in the city of Calcutta. Ramakrishna Paramhansa was a very wonderful personality and a great scholar. He was beyond worldliness and was absorbed in devotion to God. He met Swami Vivekananda in 1881. After meeting him, Vivekananda's life took a new turn. Ramakrishna Paramahansa ji was very impressed by Swami Vivekananda's character, knowledge and eagerness to know God and accepted Vivekananda ji as his disciple. Ramakrishna Paramhansa answered all the questions of Vivekananda and supported him in the path of finding God. He told Vivekananda that God exists in this world, But the man who wants to have them must find them by doing good deeds sincerely and serving mankind. Vivekananda ji also brought all his teachings in his life and according to his instructions, got engaged in human service and spiritual practice. Swami Vivekananda ji did not stay with his guru ji for long and on 16 August 1886, Ramakrishna Paramhans ji left his body and merged into the five elements. Vivekananda lived in the company of his Guru ji for five years, but in these five years he got many important facts and information related to life and God. He built many monasteries in the memory of his guru ji and propagated his knowledge and teachings all over the world. In 1884, Vivekananda's father died and then the responsibilities of the whole family fell on him. The financial condition of his family had become very bad. In such a situation, he was supported by his Guru Ji, Ramkrishna Paramhans Ji. Ramakrishna Paramhansa ji had taken Vivekananda ji with him as a priest in the Kali temple. Staying there, he got to spend more time with his Guruji, and he was completely immersed in devotion to attain God.

How did you get the title of Swami Vivekananda?

There is an interesting incident behind the change of this name of Vivekananda, whose childhood name was Narendra. When he was roaming all over India to propagate the thoughts, teachings and teachings of his Guru Ji. Then in 1891 he met Raja Ajit Singh of a place called Khatri located in Mount Abu. Raja Ajit Singh was mesmerized by his personality and spiritual thoughts and invited him respectfully to his palace. Vivekananda went to his palace and there he was given a lot of service and sake. When he stayed in the palace for a few days, his relations with the king became better. Then Ajit Singh ji honored him by giving him a new name Vivekananda, describing his personality, knowledge and intelligence.

Religious work and conferences of Vivekananda

He actively participated in the works of religious reform and social reform. He did not believe in any one religion, but considered all religions equal. He adopted both the corporeal and formless forms of God. He preached equality of all religions and cooperation among themselves. He told all the people that all the religious texts, worship texts, mosques, temples or churches etc., all these are just a means to generate faith in our mind when we connect with God. We all should not fight for these and all religions should be given equal importance. He told that just as the grain is the same and we have to eat the same food, yet we cook and eat food in different ways. In the same way, God is one but all these are the means to attain Him and there are different forms of that one God. According to him, there is no use in converting religion. Because the aim of all religions is the same, union with God. Then why should we fight amongst ourselves in the matter of religion? So everyone should respect each other's religion. Swami Vivekananda said about Hindu religion and Indian culture that Hinduism is true, It is a religion that believes in Shiva and Sundar. He also said that I have studied many types of Hindu texts whether it is Western texts or European religious books, and from this I have come to know that Hindu religion and culture is better and prouder than all others. He also said that it is useless to become celibate or to leave worldly worldly to attain God. While doing our work, we should do spiritual practice to meet God and help poor people and people suffering from hunger. Service to the suffering people is the only way to serve God and meet Him. On September 11, 1893, he attended a religious convention in Chicago, America, as an Indian representative. There he expressed his thoughts, hearing which all the audience was mesmerized.

Human service work of Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda left no stone unturned in his life to serve mankind. He did many social service work and also opposed the evil practices spread in the society. He tried his best to remove poverty, hunger and illiteracy and made everyone aware about it. He said that even if they do not donate in temples, but they must feed the hungry people. He said that there should be service in everyone's mind and also established Ramakrishna Mission for the salvation of the society. According to which any human being, irrespective of caste or religion, could participate in it if they wished to serve the poor and unhappy people. He always taught to respect and uplift women and also used to make a lot of efforts for this.

Swami Vivekananda's salvation

He followed a regular routine and discipline throughout his life. He gave good education and initiation to his followers. While meditating in the Ramakrishna Math, on July 4, 1902, his soul merged with the Supreme Soul. His disciples spread his teachings all over the world and built many monasteries in different places in the world. Even today his birthday is celebrated as National Youth Day.
